10 Days Kenya Bird Watching Safari takes you to get a chance to see some of over 1100 recorded bird species. Kenya is one of Africa’s best birding destinations in Africa. 10 Days Kenya Bird Watching Safari will take you to the best bird watching regions in Kenya. Kenya birding tour safari will give you a great opportunity to explore ornithological paradise that hosts some endemic birds among other birds. Our 10 Days Kenya Birding Safari offers luxuriously long stays in each game park, abundant time for rich wildlife viewing sessions.

This Kenya Birding Safari starts from Nairobi, Kenya’s economic capital city. We start with a brief transect through the city. Depending on your hotel location, you will enjoy the rising of Nairobi, and our guides will help you identify some key buildings and sites within the city. Birdwatching is rewarding everywhere in Kenya. For dedicated birdwatchers, a well-planned two-week itinerary is likely to result in a trip list of 350–400 species, a figure that compares favorably with anywhere in the world.

With the Rift Valley running through the country, there are numerous lakes both fresh and saline, these provide apt environment for bird foraging and breeding. Lake Nakuru, Elementaita and Bogoria are renowned for Greater and Lesser Flamingo; of course Lake Nakuru has the greatest number of Flamingos in the world present throughout the year.

To see Kenya’s rarest, indigenous and unfortunately endangered birds, the bird enthusiast needs to seek out forests or highland grasslands tucked away amongst various farmlands. Arabuko-Sokoke Forest near Malindi, tops the list, with the six threatened bird species of the Sokoke Scops Owl, Sokoke Pipit, Spotted Ground Thrush, East Coast Akalat, Amani Sunbird and Clarke’s Weaver.

Some other areas including the forest “islands” at the top of the Taita Hills, near Voi, is home to the beautiful but critically endangered Taita Thrush and Taita Apalis, as well as the endangered Taita White-eye. Sharpe’s Longclaw and Aberdare Cisticola, native and endangered, live in the highland grasslands near the Aberdare mountain range.

In western Kenya, Kakamega Forest is a little patch of Guineo-Congolian rainforest in Kenya. Among the many rainforest species found are spectacular Turacos and Hornbills, and the tiny, endangered Turner’s Eremomela.
