Day 1 Arrive in Nairobi

Transfer from Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the Nairobi Meridian hotel for overnight. Meal Plan Bed and Breakfast

Day 2Nairobi – Maiyan Lodge

Depart for your African Safari after breakfast heading north through a patchwork of coffee plantations and small farms towards Mount Kenya and the highlands. Gaining altitude, the scenery becomes lusher, the air cooler and the roadside becomes a fascinating ribbon of small shops and stall holders. Stop en route at the colorful Karatina market where fruit, vegetables, clothing and household goods are sold or bartered. Continue to Maiyan Hotel arriving in time for lunch. After lunch proceed to Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary for afternoon game drives coming back to the lodge late in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Maiyan Hotel Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3Maiyan Lodge – Lake Baringo

After Breakfast, descend from the lush highlands into the Rift Valley with its stunning volcanic landscapes before continuing to Lake Baringo arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon visit to a local village or nearby school where you can donate some pens and books should you wish to carry. Overnight at Lake Baringo Club Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4Lake Baringo Island

After breakfast, morning excursion by boat to Ol Kokwe island in the center of Lake Baringo. This is home to the small Njemps tribe who still live by fishing from their primitive reed boats, just as they have done for many hundreds of years.

Despite their life-style, the Njemps have a very good school on the island and speak good English. It is be possible to meet and talk to them about their way of life. Lunch at the lodge and afternoon at leisure to relax by the pool or enjoy a guided bird walk in the beautiful gardens beside the lake. Day 5Lake Baringo Island – Lake Nakuru

After Breakfast, we travel to the exotic Lake Nakuru National Park located in the Great Rift Valley arriving in time for lunch at Kongoni Camp. An exciting game run is planned for the afternoon. The game in this Park is plentiful and the magnificent bird watching will make a devotee out of even the most reluctant.

The Park is a home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lakeshores in to a magnificent pink stretch. The bird life here is world renowned and over 400 birds’ species exist here, White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets and Marabou Stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the White Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe. Dinner and Overnight at Kongoni Camp Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 6 Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara National Park

After Breakfast, breakfast drive to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch. The greatest attraction in the Mara is watching the animals in their natural element; a lion’s roar, a cheetah making a kill, and the big elephant herds are all very fascinating events. Day 7 Masai Mara National Park

Masai Mara is Kenya’s finest wildlife reserve. Elephant and buffalo abound in the riverine forests, while out on the grasslands Impala and Thompson’s gazelle can be seen together with their attendant predators including lion, cheetah, hyena and jackal.

The Mara is the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem and plays host to the vast herds of wildebeest and zebra during the months of July to October. In addition, lesser known species such as topi, hartebeest, waterbuck eland and many small mammals create a kaleidoscopic picture.

Between game drives, visit to the Masai “Manyatta” (village) to learn their culture. The Masai are a fiercely proud tribe who maintain their nomadic way of life. Overnight at Mara Fig Tree lodge meal plan Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast.

Day 8Masai Mara

It’s a day for those who want to experience exceptional rich traditional cultures of the Maasai people. Will walk to the village and spent sometimes with them learning about their culture. Dinner and overnight at Mara Fig Tree Lodge

Day 9Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha

After Breakfast, drive back into the Rift Valley, passing the dormant volcano of Longonot and on to Lake Naivasha. Lunch at the lodge. Afternoon visit to a flower farm or a vineyard with wine tasting. Naivasha has a thriving ago-industry and during the European winter more than a million stems a night are sent by air to Europe. The wine is palatable but not of the same quality as South African, but they are working on it! Overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa or Simba Lodge Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 10Lake Naivasha - Nairobi

An early breakfast and boat trip to Crescent Island bird sanctuary. Afterwards, ascend the spectacular Rift Valley escarpment to the Nairobi suburb of Limuru arriving in time for lunch at the old colonial style Kentmere Club. Afternoon visit to Kiambu coffee plantation to see the coffee making process. Continue to Nairobi for a farewell dinner at Rangers Restaurant or the Carnivore Restaurant then transfer to the airport for departure
