On your 5 Days Aberdare Trekking Safari you are able to visit Aberdare Park which has rare bongos, giant forest hogs and black rhinos among other forest animals. Listen closely to the sounds of the hoofed animals, such as a grunting buffalo or a clicking eland, as these resonances indicate the presence of leopards, hyenas and other hunters. Forest dwellers include Columbus, velvet and sykes’ monkeys, as well as elephants, red duiker, to name only a few of the species.

The highest peak on the Range is Ol Doinyo Lesatima which stands at 4001 meters (13,120 feet) making the Aberdare the third highest mountains in Kenya after Mount Kenya (5199 meters) and Mt. Elgon (4321 metres). Although there is no permanent snow or ice, former glaciations are responsible for the formation of large U – shaped valleys.
