What to Expect on Nairobi City Tour Daphne Sheldrick Orphanage
Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage TourAt 1100 Hours, the baby animals are brought from the National Park for a mud-bath at the orphanage, where for an hour you can get close to them and sometimes touch them. You may not feed the animals but will get a chance to view the handlers feeding them.
All the elephant orphans raised by the Trust are gradually rehabilitated back into the wild elephant community of Tsavo National Park when grown, a transition that is made at their own pace and in their own time, but usually taking approximately eight to ten years.
A number of our ex Nursery orphans have now had wild born young which they have brought back to show their erstwhile human family, and others are now pregnant and living free, yet keeping in touch with those who are still Keeper dependent.
- Sanctuary cares for orphaned baby Elephants
- Tame black and white rhino calves

Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage TourDay 1Nairobi Hotel at 9:30 am
Pick up at 9:30 am from your Hotel and drive to Sheldrick Baby Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi National Park. The drive takes approximately 45 Minutes to the park. After the tour, we will drive to Carnivore Restaurant for lunch.
Everyone who comes to Kenya must try the Carnivore Restaurant if they are true Meat Eaters! Every type of meat imaginable is roasted on traditional Masai swords (skewers) over a huge, visually spectacular charcoal pit that dominates the entrance of the restaurant. The Carnivore is a unique experience. This open-air meat specialty restaurant has become a standard stop on the safari trail.
Carnivore Restaurant food, service and atmosphere are strikingly different from anything ever seen in Kenya. The Carnivore is a meat specialty restaurant and it is justifiably referred to as ‘Africa’s Greatest Eating Experience’.
